Do you remember the feeling of being five and uninhibited? Yesterday as our grand daughter and I competed to see who could make the highest splash as we ‘bombed’ into the pool and we tried to outdo each other with unusual swimming styles, I felt carefree, uninhibited and amazingly relaxed.
Each Friday I have the pleasure of teaching a Year One class. Last week we played ‘Follow the Leader’ on our way down to the oval to do Sport. I felt overwhelmed by happiness as we wove in and out of trees and they spontaneously broke into “We’re going on a bear hunt, we’re going on a bear hunt, we’re not scared, we’re not scared ….”
Today I minded a Year Two class … “Are you our teacher?” …. “Do I look like a teacher?” And they all laughed.
Note to myself … ‘When all around is getting heavy and serious … stop, breathe, relax and find my inner child – and the joy will be multiplied’.
